Although more money is the main reason for joining this business, other benefits derived from being an independent direct seller. “At least seven of every ten persons designated as the main benefit of this activity, having a business or an additional income of money. For many it is an incentive to have some idea of ??independence, through this model,” said Francis Ray, director Mexican Association of Direct Selling.

And how is the market in Mexico? While many products are marketed, the most important category is for beauty products which include fragrances, cosmetics, personal care and skin (sales of over 20.064 million pesos ), followed by health nutritional products (more than 6.771 million pesos) and fashion including clothes, lingerie and jewelry (about 3.838 million pesos).

Over 90% of independent sellers are women: most married with four or more dependents and 3 October 10 couples do business together. Of the proceeds, 7 in 10 people use this money for “living expenses” and 6 out of 10 to improve their quality of life, the study says.
